Help

Answers to common questions about signing in and clocking in and out with AnsCare.

Where do I sign in?

Caregivers and office staff use different sign-in pages. Families do not need an account.

  1. Caregivers: open caregiver.anscare.care, or choose Caregiver sign-in on the AnsCare website.
  2. Office staff: choose Office sign-in on the AnsCare website.
  3. Families and clients do not need a password. To ask about care, use the Contact page or call the office.
  4. If you are not sure which sign-in to use, call your office before trying several times.

I forgot my password

Your office resets it for you. You get a temporary password and then choose your own.

  1. Contact your office and ask for a password reset. Please do not create a second account.
  2. Sign in with the temporary password they give you.
  3. You will be asked to choose a new password. Choose one that only you know.
  4. If the temporary password stops working, it has probably expired. Ask the office for a new one.
  5. If you still cannot sign in, tell the office which sign-in page you used: Caregiver or Office.

Clock-in or clock-out is not working: what to try first

Most problems are a weak connection, blocked location, or the wrong account.

  1. Check your internet connection. Starting and ending a visit needs a connection. Try again when your signal is back.
  2. Make sure you are signed in on Caregiver sign-in with your own account.
  3. Allow Location when your browser asks. If you chose Block, open the lock icon beside the web address, set Location to Allow, then reload the page.
  4. Check that the visit is on your schedule for today and has not been cancelled. If you do not see it, ask your office.
  5. If you are finishing a visit, refresh the page. It may already have ended, and the page will show its current state.
  6. New staff may need to finish required training before they can start visits. Your office can tell you if that applies.
  7. If it still does not work, call your office and tell them the client name, the time, and what you saw on the screen.

My phone will not share my location

Location only works on a secure page, and AnsCare must be allowed to use it in your browser settings.

  1. Open AnsCare from its normal https address, not a saved or copied page.
  2. When your browser asks to use your location, choose Allow.
  3. If you chose Block earlier, open the lock icon beside the web address, set Location to Allow, then reload the page.
  4. Make sure Location is turned on in your phone settings.
  5. Try again at the client's home when you can. Your location is checked when you start and end a visit.

Put AnsCare on your phone's home screen

This is the website with an icon, not a store app. It opens full screen like an app.

  1. iPhone: open the page in Safari, tap Share (the square with an arrow), then Add to Home Screen, then Add.
  2. Android: open the page in Chrome, tap the three-dot menu, then Add to Home screen or Install app, then Add.
  3. Do this from the Caregiver sign-in page if you are a caregiver.
  4. Next time, tap the icon. It should open full screen without the browser address bar.

How to start a visit (clock in)

Caregivers start a visit from My shift when they arrive at the client's home.

  1. Sign in on Caregiver sign-in with your own account.
  2. Open My shift. Today's visits are listed there.
  3. When you arrive at the client's home, tap Start visit on the right visit.
  4. Allow Location when your browser asks. Your location is checked when a visit starts and ends.
  5. The visit moves to the top of My shift with a timer, so you can see it is in progress.
  6. If you are still clocked in to an earlier visit, end that one first. A second visit cannot start on top of an open one.
  7. New staff may need to finish required training before they can start visits. Your office can tell you if that applies.

How to end a visit (clock out)

Caregivers end a visit from My shift before they leave the client's home.

  1. Open My shift. The visit you are on is at the top.
  2. Add a visit note if there is something the office should know. A note is not required.
  3. Tap End visit before you leave the home, and allow Location if your browser asks.
  4. Your hours are worked out from the start and end times. Tap a finished visit to see its hours and note.
  5. If End visit seems not to work, refresh the page. The visit may already have ended.
  6. If you forgot to end a visit, call your office. Only the office can correct visit times.

The page keeps reloading or sends me back to sign-in

Usually an old or expired sign-in on this device. Signing in again fresh fixes most cases.

  1. Close every AnsCare tab, then open one tab and sign in again.
  2. Use the sign-in page for your role: Caregiver sign-in or Office sign-in.
  3. If you were given a temporary password, you will be asked to choose your own before anything else opens. Finish that step first.
  4. Make sure your phone or computer shows the correct date and time. A wrong clock can make a sign-in look expired.
  5. If it still happens, call your office and say which page you were on and what you saw.
